Woke up with a really strange dream. I was at a camp together with a few of my church friends, and were getting food, which looked really bad. Was wondering why I got that dream then i realised that's because yesterday I watched "The Hiding Place" movie before I slept.
Today I finished reading "The Hiding Place" By Corrie Ten Boom. A birthday gift given by Peiling, friend in Church.
It's wonderful to witness how God can use the darkest moments in life to use people like the Ten Boom family to shine for Him.
Though it is painful to hear or see your loved ones passed on, the great news is that you know where they are definitely when they have Christ in their life.
I really admired the family. How they are willing to risk their life for the Jews during the World War II, and how Ms Betsie Ten Boom just never gave up on God no matter how bleak life was. Ms Corrie Ten Boom was really honest in her writings, many a times, she confessed how she hated those who caused her in this situation, but found the love and strength in Jesus to forgive them.
One part I really loved about Ms Betsie was that, while Ms Corrie kept seeing the need of those in the same plight as her, Ms Betsie saw an even heavier spiritual need of those german guards, and her heart goes all out to them.
Ms Betsie always relied on the precious Word of God to seek the truth, even for the infestation of fleas, she thank God and forced Ms Corrie to thank God for the fleas because God's Word says to give thanks under all circumstances.
And much later, this indeed was an answer to their prayer for ministering to others. As the place was filled with fleas, the guards refused to enter and thus, whenever they have their worship services, no guards came to stop them!!
Ms Betsie had a vision that Ms Corrie and her would leave the camp before the New Year, and so they did. Ms Betsie was called home, while Ms Corrie was release. Her release was actually dued to a clerical error, women around her age was sent to the gas chamber one week later.
And before she could be released, Ms Corrie had to go through examination tests, she had to leave with a healthy, presentable body.
Ms Corrie reflected in her writing that "if" Ms Betsie was to be released with her, Ms Betsie would never be able to live the camp! Then she remembered Ms Betsie always says, "There's no "if" in God's word."...
After she got released from the camp, the book further mentioned how she moved on and went to so many many different countries to "tell people" about Jesus.
You can search for "The Hiding Place" movie on Youtube, but I suggest reading the book first, because the book gave more detailed and accurate account of what happened.
Ms Corrie Ten Boom died on her 91st birthday, 15 Apr 1983, 3 months after I was born.
I think that's the finest gift anyone could receive, home.
