Woke up early!

Switched my alarm tone to a really irritating one, it worked!!

Listened to the hymns Sis Karina lent me.. Like it.. Settled down and did my Quiet Time without having to worry I am rushing for time..

Today woke up earlier, so I spent a bit of time reading the Bible.

Oh! Let me share the method I am using to read through the Bible...

All you have to do, is to take the number of pages of your Bible and divide it by number of days you want to finish it.

It's important to get a version you understand, afterall God meant for His Word to be understood.

I liked New Living Translation, you can go to www.biblegateway.com, and looked at the different versions. I prefer NLT, because the translation is done using the "Word-for-Word" (mainly in King James Version) AND "Thought-for-Thought" (New International Version)

So let's say, I wish to complete reading my Bible in 90 days, I'll take the pages (1075) divided by 90, and I get about 11.6something, which I round up to 12 pages.. If I read 12 pages at every meal, i'll finish reading through the bible in 30 days! hee..

But the Word of God is meant to be meditated on, to reflect, to draw lessons from. So as I read the first 3 times, I used a green highlighter pen to highlight "Examples to follow", "Things a believer should do"

I am reading from the start again, and right now I am using a red coloured pencil to colour "Bad examples", "warnings", "things not to do"...

Have a blessed time reading His Word!

(A-B-C) Living in the Light (Part 2)

1 John 1:8-10

Bible verses: 8,9

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.
But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Challenge:
I will confess my sins whenever I commit it.

Wednesday in School

One of my boy wailed as I asked him to sit in a corner (time out) because he pushed his friends repeatedly.

I wanted to laugh because he was so cute and of course I couldnt. I asked him firmly if i was shouting at him, he shook his head (still crying), then I asked him, "then why are you crying?". He stopped for a while, and continued because he still didnt want to sit in his corner.

After school, went to register my course! Am thankful to God that they have installments..

quite nervous about school. Hoping to put in all my efforts to score well, and give God all the glory He deserves. I do realise, no amount of work I do on my own can contribute to His attributes, but I want to glorify Him as a child of His.. I wish to score a minimal of B, which probably means I need to score 75% and higher for my grades.

Mum called and said we got to have 2.5k to get a house, and the rest deduct CPF.. She didnt specify whose CPF.. so.. hmm..

Well, whatever it is, come what may, I'll commit it to the Lord.

Been waking up just on time for school, been rushing through my QT which I didnt like it.. Need to wake up earlier to spend a more meaningful QT with God.. He's not just any coffee drinking friends, He 's Lord.. and I think He deserves more than 10 minutes with me everyday..

I will rejoice because I know my Saviour lives

Today's challenge is appropriate for me, because been feeling a bit lost these few days..

Mandarin Worship Service (09 Jan 11)

Preacher: Pastor Heng

God's plans for the ages..

Pastor gave a chart, showed God in the eternity past, created the world. Has blessed, chosen, predestinated and sealed us in Christ as Adopted sons, to be holy and without blame before Him in love, so that in the ages to come we might be to the praise and glory of God. Which is our eternity future..

While preaching on this, Pastor shared how we are all placed in our family for a purpose.

He shared how his father used to be poor, and while everyone else had chauffer and drives a big car, his dad drove a small car. At first Pastor was shy about admitting that was his father, but God reminded him that because his father loved him, that's why he was here. Only then Pastor bravely walked up to his dad.

It's like Christ coming to bear our sins in shame, all in the name of love..

(A-B-C) The Day of the Lord is coming (2)

2 Peter 3:8-10

Bible verses: 8,9
But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.
The Lord isn't really being slow about this promise, as some people think . No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

Challenge:
I will not forget but will be zealous to share the Gospel because time is short.
