Last day of the year

Woah. I am super excited about 2011, yet at the same time, super stress about it.. Let me just list down what i have to do, and what I intend to do.

To be done:
- Teach (5 days a week, 8am to 11:30am, Fridays till 4:30pm)
- Office (5 days a week, 12pm to 2:30pm, Fridays till 4:30pm)
- School (Dip in Early Childhood, thrice a week, 6:30pm to 10pm, includes loads of assignments)
- Children's and Junior Fellowship (drop in every Sat to befriend kiddos till my own fellowship time, only helping out in special events.)
- Attend Young Adults' Fellowship.
- Choir on Sunday (I think i am part of the music committee i am not too sure =/)
- Work In Progress (a.k.a WIP, a singing group, performances on special occasions)

Whether to do/ praying and planning:
- Youth Fellowship friend/ buddy/ extra (i have no idea what to call my position there)
- internal auditor

I dropped Sunday School and teaching at CF/JF because i seriously think i need to pace myself on the weekends. I realised i still get muscle aches whenever i get too excited or hyped up. This year, i am praying to be focused on my school children, especially to tell the story of Jesus.

I think i'll stick to the theme, Jesus is my Friend.. =)

Blogging about me growing up, trying to get as much down as possible before school starts..

WIP meeting later!

(A-B-C) Peter's Final Greetings

1 Peter 5:12-14

Bible verses: 12, 14
I have written and sent this short letter to you with the help of Silas, whom I commend to you as a faithful brother. My purpose in writing is to encourage you and assure you that what you are experiencing is truly part of God's grace for you. Stand firm in this grace.
Greet each other with Christian love. Peace be with all of you who are in Christ.

Challenge:
I will encourage believers and greet my friends with Christian love.

Before i came back to Christ, used to dread going to Church because I hardly have any friends.
Now, I found such great sisters and brothers in Christ, i can't wait for Sat and Sun to come! And it's always a special day when I manage to meet them outside other than the weekends =)

Work In Progress
meeting later... Wheeee!!

Risks...

A friend asked, "how can we be accountable through blogs?"

Well, here's the explanation.. I promised the readers to be entirely honest about my blogs, and i will blog about everything under the various subject titles. And as i do so, because I do not want to stumble others, whoever IS reading my blogs, I became more and more aware of my thoughts, ways and actions.

I am not perfect, i am still learning. I do realised the risks i am taking. I just sent an invitation to a group of friends in Church to read my blogs.. As most of you had read, some are not entirely pleasant.

What have i gotten myself into?

As i asked that question when i click "send", I realised, if i cannot face my friends because of how shameful i am of my deeds, how about God?

Ultimately, I will be facing Him, and I do want to hear Him say,

"well done, good and faithful servant..."

(A-B-C) Advice for Elders and Young Men (Part 3)

1 Peter 5:8-11

Bible Verse: 8-9
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. remember that your Christ brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.

Challenge:
I will stay alert, stand firm and be strong in my faith.

Seems really challenging, but am reminded, with God everything is possible!
Today had stuff meeting.

Mrs Teo shared from Romans 15:5-7
May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.
Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.

She reminded us to have the attitude of Christ (Philippians 2:1-11), which also means to reflect the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

-Be of one mind..
- serve others
- giving up our own interest
-self-sacrifice. Like Paul, still preaching when in prison. Christ gives power to deny self..
- Unity. Paul encourages to work together, contend ONE enemy (i.e devil). Growing in Christ requires discipline, focus on Him..
- Joy --> comes from depending on Him. Outside circumstances can never cause you joy, but comes from within.

I am really thankful to God to be able to have this job. I love the children.
At the same time, i am starting to feel multiple stress, and somehow my heart aches each time i feel stress.. Not fun.. Have to learn to give it all to God..

One of my church friend's mom passed away. My friend's really upset because her mum's not saved. I can understand how she feels. If mummy leaves me without accepting Jesus, I don't know how i would react.. But God's still in control no matter what..

Praying hard for my children. For myself, i prayed for wisdom, patience, and most of all love. Like Paul says in 2 Cor, do everything in love. Without love, whatever you do doesnt bring joy, does not bring satisfaction..

Met up for dinner with my besties, Anne Marie, Aly, Shirin & Heng and of course my godson Lusius Ignatius Heng. He's such a cute and wonderful boy. His observation skills are wonderful, such a clever boy! Oh, and he's really social-able too.. Would love to have him in my class.

watching flashcards apps on his dad's iphone.. Yes he knows how to use it!

tired from the lil outing... Woke up after his mum puts on his pjs...

Shirin drives now, and she offered to drive me home. So embarrassing coz she stays at Sembawang. Gave me some tips on how to pass theory.. Haha.. super cool..

Wooo.. Tired...

(A-B-C) Advice for Elders and Young Men Part 2

1 Peter 5:5-7

Bible Verse: 6
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time He will lift you up in honour.

Challenge:
I will humble myself.

Seen situations where adults refused to eat the humble pie, and caused really much unnecessary hurt, etc... I need to keep reminding myself to be humble, and that I am learning always.. I think humility is harder to attain as you grow older.. I pray that I will be humble all the time..

Going back to YAF raised several concerns for me, but ultimately, I am accountable to God for my personal reasons why I'm being like this. Might have caused others to stumble...

My bad.. Please forgive me Father..

Farming and harvesting

Today Gwyn came back, so excited.. hee..

Went to school to do stuff, then went off at 2pm with Sis Charissa and Alycia to receive Gwyn.

She's a bit sick, but in really great spirit! Nice to see her after two months.. Then i hung out with her the whole day. Went to the doc with her, ate dinner, did quite a lot of catching up..

Then we went to IMM to meet up with Jas, Nelson and Alex..

Decided to go back to YAF, but felt the burden to serve in YF. Timing crashes, well, gonna pray and hand in all in to God, He's always in control, and He never makes mistakes.

Doing 2nd lesson with Minibible college now.. Topic is on the Holy Bible, introductions, purposes. Will share more tomorrow, have to be disciplined to sleep early and wake up early. Totally messed up my meal timings today...

(A-B-C) Advice for Elders and Young Men (Pt 1)

1 Peter 5:1-4

Bible verses: 2-3
Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly - not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.
Don't lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example.

Challenge: (even though this is mainly for men)
I will willingly care for people younger than me and to lead by example.

Gwyn's coming back!

(A-B-C) Suffering for being a Christian

1 Peter 4:12-19

Bible verse: 19
So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you.

Challenge:
I will keep on doing what is right and trust my life to the God who created me, for He will never fail me.

Totally mis communicated for today.. i thought didn't have to come in to school today because Christmas was on Sat, i thought today was an off day, so i spent the night over at Cindy's place, taking the night feeds.. But in the end, i was so tired, i slept through the 2nd night feed, which mum still took. Thank God mummy's always so responsible. =) I love her!

Anyway, happily dozing off till about 10am, when mum said Aunty Sharon's coming to have breakfast. So i woke up and checked my phone. To my horror, my principal called and leave message, and I had to go back.. I quickly apologized and told my mum. Brushed my teeth and quickly went down to get breakfast. Was worried that I had to take a long trip home because I was in Ang Mo Kio, about an hour and half ride. Thank God my aunty gave me a love gift, which allows me to take a taxi and flew down!

God is gracious and so are His disciples! My principal and co teacher was forgiving, and understanding towards me, and i quickly got down to work.. Thank God everything's quite fine. I thank God i could still have discipleship at 4:30pm.

Sis Charissa told me about this Mini Bible College where I can start my bible studies online, and it's something I always wanted to do.

Half way through, some guy walked up to us and asked if he could buy a "Thank You" card from us because the person they are saying bye to is leaving, and they dont have a farewell card for that teacher. Sis Charissa kindly assisted them.

Later on, after several analysis, there are some thoughts that we were being tested on by people who are studying sociology.. Well, whatever the cause, Sis Charissa did God glory today =)

Went to her house for dinner, supposed to stay and watch "Beyond the gates of Splendor" but got shoo-ed home because I forgot to bring my pills out =p.

Went home and did some packing around the house, threw away some stuffs. Then I watched "Flywheel". It's really an interesting show. Those in business should definitely watch it!

Gwyn's coming back tomorrow!

Praying I can finish my work fast and fly down to the air port to receive her! Hee.. Wish i learned how to drive! But then again, i cant afford the car. Haha.

Well, whatever it is, God's Will be done.

Hey, realise how crazy the World has been lately.. Maybe you should start thinking

"Is there a tomorrow for me?"

(A-B-C) Living for God Part 2

1 Peter 4:7-9
The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to share.

Challenge: I will be earnest and disciplined in my prayers.

Went out with Eldest Sis and family for shopping and meals.. Went to Church for Christmas Service and then went out to West Coast Park Macdonald to chat with Aunty Jasmin, Fiona, Candice and Aixin. Made new year resolution to lose 20kg and win 3 souls to Christ!
Gave tracts impromptu, rejected by many, mainly local Singaporeans.

Heard the following comments:
- "I think you too tired"
- "Wah! So scary!"
And one ang moh said
-"I can't read"

Was not discouraged at all, in fact they are the very ones the reason Jesus came. People use this holiday to enjoy time with their family, and girlfriend, without understanding why.

There's so much sense of security in Singapore that we are all comfortable filling up the bottomless pit of our desires without realising it does not satisfy.

Please dont think i am condemning anyone. I'm a sinner too, saved by grace. Just want to let you know grace had already come.

It came in the name of Jesus.

Through Gates of Splendor

Finished watching the DVD..

If i was the wife of a missionary who had been killed by the people we were trying to minister to, I wonder if i would have the same courage to forgive, to pray for them, and to live with them?

If you have a chance, please watched it. We are not insane, we just want to let everyone know about the Gospel...

From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya

reading this book Sis Charissa lent me.. Only managed to read a few pages so far. Just finished one part on the persecution of the early churches..

Seriously.. If Jesus's Cruxification and Resurrection isn't real, these men died in vain.

Thinking about myself again.. Would I stand firm when the time comes?

Praying for God to grant me courage, teach me to love Him with everything I have, everything I am..

(A-B-C) Living for God (Part 1)

1 Peter 4:1-6

Bible verses: 1, 4, 5
So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.
(4) Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they so. So they slander you.
But remember, that they will have to face God, who will judge everyone, both the living and the dead.

First time woken up so early, from a dream that feels like a nightmare, and feeling so energetic, did a few adjustments to the blogs. So far so good.. Nothing's churning in my stomach yet. Thank God for recovery..

Remembered Hannah sharing the above verse with me when i shared with her the pain i experienced from sharing the gospel with my old friends. I was faced with such hostility that i cried every night thinking about what they said, and wondered if everyone really preferred the old Cynthia...

I guessed I tried too hard to share my testimony, and now, I am glad i started this. For those who wants to read about me, will find everything here...

Christmas Eve! Excited!! Gonna clean the house now.. la la la la la

Had my 2nd Christmas present from Mrs Heng, toaster oven!! Looking forward to lunch!! muahaha

Pilgrim's Progress

Watched the film scripted from the book of the same title written by John Bunyan.. Truly reflecting, especially the last part, where ignorant were at the gates and were not allowed to enter because he has no certificate of Salvation, and hands were bounded then went to hell.

This is a great movie, and I would definitely buy the book and keep reading it over and over. I think I will update the progress here.

I am sure where I am going, how about you? Which character are you?

(A-B-C) Suffering For Doing Good

1 Peter 3:13-22

Bible verses: 14, 15
But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don't worry or be afraid of their threats. Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.

Challenge:
I will be ready to face suffering with God's strength.

Though this seemed a bit "you-are-asking-for-it" kind of mind set, we have to face the fact we are living the "last days" prior to Jesus' 2nd coming.

Watched John Bunyan's and Gladys Aylward's story. How God used them for His Kingdom sake. They were bold and obedient to follow God's commands, to do God's will.

I long for a day where God will used me mightily too, and these whatever I am going through right now, are molding me for whatever God planned for me.

Can't help thinking about what William Carey said
~Expect great things from God,
Attempt great things for God~~

Good report from the dietitian..

(A-B-C) All Christians

1 Peter 3:8-12

Bible Verses: 8-9
Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathsize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.
Don't repay evil for evil. Don't retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead. pay them back with a blessings. That is what God has called you to do, and He will bless you for it.

Challenge: I will love my brothers and sisters in Christ, and my enemies.

I know, i know, this is another of the "What??? Are you serious??" Kind of advice from the bible.

Yup, we are asked to do just that. Unless you have the God's Spirit in you, it's really hard to love your enemy.

Somebody's Daughter

Romans 12:2
Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and leasing and perfect.

The time right now is 2:47am. I slept at 11pm, woke up at 1am.
At the back of my head, all i could think about was the DVD that Sis Charissa brought for me to watch. And so i did.

Here are a few things i learnt from the DVD:
- Sin thrives in darkness
- talking about it leads to accountability, leads to eventually recovery
- The only way to freedom is to commit to being free (King David's prayer "Show me Thy ways O LORD")
- Recovery also happens when i make the decision to live differently as God wants me to.

~I'm not tortured anymore,
got no secrets,
I've come clean with the dark obsessions
that haunted my life~ Free, by John Mandeville

definitely can sleep better now..

(A-B-C) Husbands and Wives

Sorry didnt update yesterday. was recovering from food poisoning.. Staring at the screen too long i realise, increased my giddiness..

Anyways, I'm combining both my Quiet time for yesterday and today.

1 Peter 3:1-6
A: Wives
B: 1,2
In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over by observing your pure and reverent lives.
C: When I get married, I will accept the authority of my husband.

1 Peter 3:7
A: Husbands
B: 7
In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God's gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.
C: When I get married, I will remind my husband.

I'm getting slack in reading my bible.. And currently, i'm also reading the great empires of History, and you will be shock how much facts was revealed in the bible compared to the histories.. La la la la..

Our God is an Awesome God,
He reigns from Heaven above,
With wisdom, power and love.
Our God is an Awesome God.

(A-B-C) Slaves

1 Peter 2:18-25

Bible Verses: 18-19
You who are slaves must accept the authority of your masters with all respect. DO what they tell you - not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they're cruel.
For God is pleased with you when you do what you know is right and patiently endures unfair treatment.

Challenge:
I will accept the authority of my master/ boss.

This is one of the verses where the people of the world will be like :"What????" Ya i know, Christians we are...

Today is Christmas Sunday. Pastor Philip Heng reminded us how Jesus was made poor who us. Choir presented, i think we did pretty well, thank God! Though i felt like fainting half the time, thank God for granting me enough stamina to sing both the special items.

Then i realised, my chest was hurting and i didn't get enough rest after over exerting from being the game In Charge yesterday. You know, even for Christians, we got to be reminded how to be appreciative, even the older Christians. We are always learning.

I like what Pastor Heng preached today. Short and straight to the point.

2 Corinthians 8:9
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.

Pastor had his notes typed out neatly, my challenge for you is to spend the next 5 minutes reading it!

A. Our Lord Jesus Christ was rich
1. He was one with the Father (John 10:30)
2. Had the same glory as God the Father before the world was (John 17:5)
3 Dwelt "in the bosom of the Father" (John 1:18)
4. Was "the brightness of His [the Father's] glory (Hebrew 1:3)
5 Was "the express image [facsimile] of the Father" (Heb 1:3)
6. Was Creator of the universe (Hebrew 1:2)
7. He upholds the universe. By Him, all things consist [adhere, hold together] (Colossians 1:17)
8. He was rich in power over nature, sin, sickness, death, Satan, evil spirits, man (Matthew 28:18)
9. He was rich in glory (Ephesians 1:18). Had the same glory as God the Father (John 17:5).
10. He was rich in wisdom (Romans 11:33). "In Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3)
11. He was rich in majesty (Jude 25).
12. He was rich in grace (Ephesians 1:7, 2:7)
13 He was rich in goodness (Romans 2:4)
14 He was rich in blessing (Ephesians 1:3)
15. He was rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4)
16. He was rich in riches (Ephesians 3:8).
17. He was rich in love (Galatians 2:20).
18. He is the Son of God.

B. Our Lord Jesus Christ became poor
1. He took upon Himself the form of man.
2. He was made in the likeness of man.
3. He took the form of a servant (Philippians 2:7)
4. He came obedient unto death (Philippians 2:8)
5. He suffered the death of the Cross (Philippians 2:8)
6. When Ha came to Earth, there was no room for Him in the inn (Luke 2:7)
7. He was born in a manger (Luke 2:7, 16)
8. He was wrapped in swaddling clothes (Luke 2:7, 12)
9 His mother made a sacrifice of a pair of turtle doves (luke 2:24). This showed how poor His family was.
10. As an adult, the Lord said that He had nowhere to lay His head (Matthew 8:20)
11. For the Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem, He had to borrow a donkey (Mark 11:2)
12. For the Last Supper, He had to borrow an Upper Room (Matthew 26:18)
13. Even before He hung on the Cross, His robe was taken away and the soldiers gambled for it.
14. After His death, he was laid in a borrowed tomb (John 19:41)

C. We who are poor
1. We are lost sinners, born with a sinful nature.
2. We are lost and undone.
3. Facing future judgement for sin.
4. After death, we will be consigned to the Lake of Fire.
5. We are helpless and weak and cannot pay the penalty of sin or help ourselves.
6. We are under the curse of death.
7. We are in the Kingdom of Satan.
8. We are awaiting Hell and the Lake of Fire.

D. Our Lord Jesus Christ came to make us rich
1. When we believe in Him, we become God's child (John 1:12)
2. We are saved from future judgement to come.
3. We have our sins forgiven.
4. We become future citizens of heaven, beginning now on Earth.
5. We become heirs of God.
6. We become joint-heirs with the Lord Jesus Christ.
7. Our lives are transformed.
8. We are saved and become saints, and our future is in Heaven, to live with God eternally.
9. Isn't it amazing what Christ had come to do for us?

E. Conclusion
1. What will you do with Jesus, the Son of God?
2. He came to be Saviour of the world. He came to be the way to God.
3. Is it that difficult to decide what to do with Jesus?
4. If you are hungry, you need to eat. If you are thirsty, you need to drink. If you are sick, you need to consult a doctor.
5. If you are spiritually sick and troubled by your sin or by evil spirits, or by the fear of judgement to come, you need a Saviour.
6. Only Jesus can save you. He is God's Gift at Christmas, just for you. Will you receive Jesus as your Saviour now?

(A-B-C) Respecting People in Authority

1 Peter 2:13-17

Bible verses: 16-17
For you are free, yet you are God's slaves, so don't use your freedom as an excuse to do evil.
Respect everyone, and love your Christian brothers and sisters. Fear God, and respect the King.

Challenge:
I will fear God, respect everyone and not use my freedom as an excuse to do evil.

Writing that challenge was a slap in the head compared to what i had done last night...

I promised in my introduction to be honest and i will.

After eating breakfast, I watched The Cross and The Switchblade. Was really touched by the conversion of a real life gangster. I felt so unappreciative towards God (by committing sins), when i am so much more fortunate..

Then i prepared myself to go to Church to help out with our Children's and Junior's Fellowship Christmas Celebration. I was in charged of games. Thank God Sis Karina gave me a book on games coz it definitely came in handy, i used it for two games today!

Then went to help Jasmine with the bulletins, started talking about how much i missed my friends who are travelling.. grr.. *much dislike*

Then i think i kinda over exert myself during the game time, was super hyper, my chest hurts..
Came home, mopped floor, washed clothes, cleaned my terrapin's tank, blogged. gonna rest now..

Registration for the Christmas party

Check out the nice mini stage set up!

Stacks of bulletins.. yes, these don't magically fold themselves..
Thank God for the committed YF who has been doing this for years.
Jasmine and Candice, my Xiao Mei (lil sisters) did today's.
Deaconess Chai Lan helped today. My heart's always warmed by the servant's heart of our Deacons and Deaconesses.

(A-B-C) Living stones for God's house

1 Peter 2:4-12

Bible Verse: 11&12
Dear friends, I warn you as temporary residents and foreigners" to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.
Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbours. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honourable behaviour, and they will give honour to God when he judge the world.

Challenge:
I will keep away from worldly desires.

Eh.. Does that includes Jay Chou?? I am clear my life doesn't revolve around him, but i do think he is cute.. hee... and talented.. I don't drown my ears with his songs, all i have in my mp3 are Christian music and sermons. I think i DO have to be careful if i begin to idolize him.. then, THAT, is a mega problem for me.

Reminds me of the hymn

This world is not my home,
I'm just a'passing through.
My treasures are laid up,
somewhere beyond the blue...

When i saw the words "honourable behaviour", i wonder if i could display the word "honourable" when circumstances arrives, and i had to make a stand..

I know i failed once when i completely chose to keep quiet and not defend my faith when someone close to me said New Testament was bullshit.. I was so devastated, it made me miserable for days.. then i found this song on youtube, and i cried like a baby when the song reaches the chorus.. Here it is Everything to me by Avalon..

Here or there huh?

Matthew 28:19-20
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

I finished watching DVD on William Carrey's life and mission in India.. I can't imagine being in his shoes and all the suffering he went through.

No doubts there are times he wondered if he heard the call wrongly from God, but God did see him through. With God's guidance and strength, he started schools, colleges, translated the New Testament to different languages. The DVD is call Candle in the Dark..

Reminds me of our own church's missionary, Pastor Heng's son, Brother Nathaniel Heng. He is currently in Chiangmai, Thailand. And I admired his love for God and His people there in the land of smiles..

And another of my friend, had felt the burden for the people from the Land of smiles too.. She is currently there, and will be back on the 27th Dec.. I know she will be heart broken to leave that place, but I believe God certainly will make the way for her.

As for me, i miss the stars and dusts of Kenya.. I miss the children's eagerness to learn.. I feel i want to go there, still praying if God wants me to be there..

Messed up life?

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Just ended my discipleship with Sis Charissa, and we have come to an end on our first 40 minutes bible study "What the Bible says about Sex?" I love what Kay Arthur wrote at the end of the book, and i will quote directly from the book, praying it will speak to anyone reading this..

Taken from: "What the Bible says about Sex?"
By Kay Arthur and Bj Lawson, page 80 & 81,
(C) 2008 by Precept Ministries International

"We have seen clearly that sex is God's invention. It is He who created human beings male and female, He who told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and to multiply, and also He who said sex was designed for our pleasure. However, too many have bought into Satan's lies about sex and then discovered to their great regret that God set limits on sex to protect us from the destructive consequences of its misuse.

Have you made a mess of your life because of your sexual choices? Do you feel unworthy of the Father's love? Dirty? Worthless?

Having seen for yourself what God says, do you realize that no matter what you have done, you can be assured of complete and absolute forgiveness? Even if you have been involved in sexually immoral behaviour, including sex outside of marriage, oral sex, heavy petting or fondling, incest, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, or pornography - YOU can be forgiven. "How?" you ask.

1. First, agree with God that you have sinned - broken His holy Law, rebelled against His holy will. Name your sins for what they are. The word confess in 1 John 1:9 means "to say the same thing." To confess sin, then, is to agree with God that what you have done is wrong.

2. Take responsibility for your sins. You can't blame anyone else. Acknowledge your sins and take full responsibility.

3. Thank God for the blood of Jesus Christ, which cleanses you from all sin, and in faith accept His forgiveness. Remember, forgiveness is always based on grace, never something earned. "Where sin is abounded, grace did much more abound" (Romans 5:20, KJV)

4. Take God at His Word. "Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1). No matter what your feelings, cling in faith to what God says. Don't let satan, the accuser of the brethren, rob you of faith's victory.

5. Thank God for the gift of His Holy Spirit and tell Him that you want to walk by the Spirit so that you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Prayers like this show genuine repentance.

Scripture challenges us to both believe what God says and to change our behaviour accordingly. In reality your belief system always determines your behaviour. You have seen what God says about sex; will you now choose to believe it, walk in it, and teach it?..."

(A-B-C) A call to be holy

I Peter 1:13-2:3
Verse i chose: 14, 15

So you must live as God's obedient children. Don't slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didnt know any better than.
For the Scriptures say, "You must be holy because I am holy."

Challenge: I will live as God's obedient child..

It almost seems like im shooting myself in my own foot as i wrote that challenge down. I am pretty sure there's someone out there who thinks this is really easy to do. Well, for a person without the Holy Spirit's guidance, our first reaction will be whatever we've learnt from parents, siblings, mainly the world..

After being a Christian, there's like one hundred and million things to learn about God, and it all seems so difficult to do so. But if you were to sum it up, everything's to be done in the name of Love.

Love God, love your neighbours like yourself.. These ARE the two greatest commandment. Keep these two in mind, you won't go wrong with decision making, directions, etc.

Oh, for those who are interested to have effective Quiet time like the one i am doing, you can refer to this site my discipler created.. It's call A-B-C bible study... I've linked you up to the instruction pages, explore around and you can find how she has seperated the verses for daily QT..

God bless! uploading the songs i wrote for God here...

(A-B-C) The Hope of Eternal Life

1 Peter 1:3-12

Bible verse: 6-7
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold - though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honour on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

Challenge:
I will be glad through trials..

I think in one of my conversations with Sis Charissa, we talked about how the world might viewed the bible. Crazy thoughts like "rejoicing through trials", "love your enemies", "turn the other cheek"...

And yes, many times we are deemed as fools. But i like what Sis Charissa's friend said, "I'll be a fool for Christ."

I wrote in my bible "Fools for Christ".. and the number one person who might thought im truly out of my mind, is my mum, but hey, still love her to bits..

Weekly dates

Galatians 6:1-2
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
Share each other's burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.

Today was a very fruitful discipleship with Sis Charissa.. She gave me loads of ideas about the blog im starting as an evangelistic tool.. Praying hard and brain storming for ideas now..

We continued on the 40 minute bible study on "What the bible says about sex?" It did opened my eyes to more immoralities that i thought was really ok.. But obviously not.. I thank God that i was borned in an Asian country where we are still pretty much conservatives.. I was quite a porn addict, might be in real deep trouble if God and mum didnt hold me back.. phew..

My Quiet time for today is 1 Peter 1:1-2.

A (A title) - Greetings from Peter
B (Bible Verse) - vs 2
God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and His Spirit has made you holy. As a result you have obeyed Him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
May God give you more and more grace and peace.
C (Challenge) - I will be like Peter, wishing well of others, and remind them that God chose them.

At first glance, i was like... How to do the challenge part? and usually challenges comes quite easily without having me to think so much. Guess i took it for granted. Then i notice how Peter reminded the believers, that God chose them..

And as i checked my facebook every now and then, i realised fellow believers sometimes gets upset with life, and then i thought, hey! what Peter did was right.. Seems common to just greet others, but reminding that they are personally chosen by God is something else.

I thank God for giving me a chance to remind a sister in Christ that we are unique in God's eyes..
