Young Adults' Fellowship (29 Jan)

1 John 3:16
We known what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.

Today is YAF Vision 2011. Our theme is still "Every Young Adult, a minister"

There are several groups that we can commit to, but unfortunately being physically unwell most of the time, i could only choose one.. Would like very much to join the others (soul is willing, but flesh is weak) but I know my limits.. Felt quite sad about it, but well... God will make a way.. And I am ministering in another way, i.e. to my lovely children in kindergarten.

Had stomach flu again.. The whole time i had to bear with the cramps and churning inside my stomach, and the chest aches.. I think everyone thought I was in a super bad mood, but honestly, just in super bad pain..

Through all the aches I had last year, my tolerance level for pain is much higher.. Am thankful to God for that.. I think the question now to ask me is not, are you in pain but rather the opposite.. I think everyone can tell when I am not in pain.. Much more energy and with a more cheerful spirit..

Anyway, i've chosen to be in the "Equipping" ministry.. Praying God will make full use of me there.

As for school, I am thankful to God for seeing me through every day last week.. Can't describe to you how much pain I am in actually, but compared with not going to school and being worried about my children's progress, i rather bore the pain and jump around with my kiddos..

Enough said. Lots to blog and time for rest... zzzzz

(A-B-C) Love one another (Part 3)

1 John 4:13-17

Bible verses: 15, 17
All who confess that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.
And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.

Challenge:
I will be more like Christ everyday.

(A-B-C) Loving One another (Part 2)

1 John 4:9-12

Bible verses: 9, 12
God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expressions in us.

Challenge:
I will remember how much God loves me and reflect this love to others.

(A-B-C) Loving One Another (Part 1)

1 John 4:7-8

Bible verse: 7
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.

Challenge:
I will persevere in loving my neighbours and enemies..

Wednesday!

My chest was still aching quite badly.. Went to school anyway..

Today I shared about Abraham sacrificing Isaac.. Had 2 of my boys acting out with me as Abraham and Isaac.. My little "Isaac" was so cute.. He actually looked scared while lying on the "altar" chair.. hee..

I taught about obedience = listen and doing it. A reminder for myself to obey God too..

Oh in the midst of the scene of "sacrifice", my chest was having spasms, tried to keep my face straight.. Maybe that's why my "Isaac" was scared.. Heh...

Do check out my Endless Thoughts, found a few cool cantonese songs.. Like them!

(A-B-C) Discerning False Prophets (Part 2)

1 john 4:4-6

Bible verse: 6
But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.

Challenge:
I will know if someone has the spirit of deception

(A-B-C) Discerning False Prophets (Part 1)

1 John 4:1-3

Bible verse: 2
This is how we know if they have Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God.

Challenge:
I will be discerning about False Prophets

(A-B-C) Love one another ( Part 3)

1 John 3:21-24

Bible verses: 22, 23
And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.
And this is his commandment: we must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us.

Challenge:
I will obey and do the things that pleases Him.

(A-B-C) Love one another (Part 2)

1 John 3:16 - 20

Bible verses: 16, 18
We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up ourlives for our brothers and sisters.
Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

Challenge:
I will show I am Christian by my actions

(A-B-C) Love one another (Part 1)

1 John 3:11-15

Bible verses: 11, 14
This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
If we love our Christian brothers & sisters, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead.

Challenge:
I will love my neighbours

(A-B-C) Living as Children of God (Part 2)

1 John 3:4-10

Bible verses: 6, 10
Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is.
So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God.

Challenge:
I will rely on Christ to help me not sin.

(A-B-C) Living as Children of God (Part 1)

1 John 2:28 - 3:3

Bible verses:  2:28, 3:3

And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when He returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.
And who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.

Challenge:
I will remain in fellowship with Christ
